After losing Rebel, our loyal 14-year-old rescue dog, to a rattlesnake bite in our backyard, the silence was deafening. Josie, our sweet rescue girl, was just three. Her gentle presence brought comfort, but we knew our hearts—and hers—had room for more.
Then came Rusty. My dream Golden Retriever puppy, gifted with love. The only catch? He was waiting in Oregon. I drove across states with a heart full of grief, hope, and anticipation—and came home with Rusty. Velcro pup. Vocal snuggler. My golden boy.
